Prague Food Festival 2016: The Culinary Event of the Year

Motto: No Dumb Eating, Drinking or Living!

This prestigious three-day culinary festival takes place in the Royal Gardens of the Prague Castle. At our 10th annual festival, you can taste wonderful dishes and delicacies and get to know local chefs along with the top restaurants and drink producers.

All the cooking and drink pouring this year will be the done by tried and true veterans from past years as well as the new stars of gastronomy.

We have chosen 26 of the most interesting restaurants from the Maurer's Selection Grand Restaurant 2015 for you to taste. Featuring unique combinations such as blood sausage made from smoked tongue, asparagus gazpacho with birch leaf as well as Picanha beef with liver and kidneys. Not to be missed are also farm fresh delicacies and chocolate truffles with garlic or chilli! 

Like every year, we are introducing new faces who are appearing at our festival for the first time, such as La Bodeguita del Medio, La Casa Argentina, Panonia Slovenská Restaurace, Bresto, Field, Rezidence Golf, Oliva by Amandine, Valoria Castle & Garden Praha and Dvůr Hoffmeister. Of course, you can also expect some of your festival favorites like V Zátiší, Bellevue, U Emy Destinnové or Yasmin, Noodles. To drink, you can taste organic wines from the Ekovín group, wines from the Českomoravský svaz vinařských podniků (Czech-Moravian Wine Association), and champagne from Veuve Clicquot. On top of that, Pavel Maurer and his team will be personally pouring a selection of international wines at hourly intervals. 

You can meet with Michelin-starred chefs and experience a culinary gladiator battle in the De’Longhi Colosseum under the baton of two Michelin-starred Moreno Cedroni, one of Italy’s most famous chefs. There will be over 40 stalls with fine food and drinks from top producers. 

There will also be an insect menu, organic cheese, Ugo ice cream from fresh ingredients, raw food, a special festival brew, Summer Ale, from the Lobkowicz Brewery. Aqua-sommelier, Beata Vlnková, will present a unique and comprehensive portfolio of spring and mineral waters suitable for wine and high-end gastronomy. You can also dance to the rhythm of the Caribbean or relax on a picnic beach at the Rauch Grand Relax Area. 

In the program "The Healthy Journey" you can follow the development of healthy and delicious foods from the seeds from which they originate over to the farms and finally into becoming the final dish.  

Apart from workshops, cooking shows and tastings in the Ball Room (Míčovna), you will be able to sample fresh UGO juices treated only with high pressure, see Michelin-starred chef Roman Paulus and cooks from the Sapik family. One of the most successful restaurateurs in the Czech Republic, Indian Sanjiv Suri, will teach how to cook with your family. Organic cook Hanka Zemanova will show her appreciation for herbs and flowers in the kitchen, and sports fans will be interested in the “Football lions” menu from the youth national under-21 team.
