WHAT DO WE MIND?

Wasting in all phases of the food chain:
  • Uncontrolled agricultural overproduction all over the world
  • Food waste piling up
  • Recycling ignorance
  • Wasting drinking water
  • Supermarkets refusing the ‘crooked’ (i.e. aesthetically unsatisfactory) fruit and vegetables
  • Too large food packages forcing people to buy more than they do need
  • Excessive portions in restaurants resulting in overeating
  • Wasting parts of ingredients our thrifty ancestor could use
  • Intentionally hidden or insufficient information on wasting

WHO ARE WE?

We have been engaged in a quest for the best and most interesting restaurants and their rating for a very long time. We do care about breeding, growing and food production – the whole process from the very beginning to the final consumption and recycling to close the whole natural cycle in a logical way respectful to planet.

WHAT DO WE DO FOR IT?

Since 2013, we have been regularly presenting restaurants using farm and organic food in our guide. Our food festivals have always accented the idea of adding local and seasonal ingredients into portfolios of restaurants and food producers. We support small and needy groups of people who engage in the same area – in promotion of gastronomy development toward a greater thoughtfulness of our planet – but who do not have enough money and a stable background.

WHO ARE OUR PARTNERS?

  • Bezobalu
  • Kokoza
  • Na ovoce
  • Zachraň jídlo
  • Sanjiv Suri (Zátiší Group)

PIECES OF ADVICE – FOR NO ASKING PRICE

  • Think of animals around us.
  • Don’t pour it down the toilet if you can water your garden with it (e.g. spaghetti water).
  • Try to use what is left in our fridge or pantry, it often results in creative recipes.
  • Don’t buy more than we’re able to eat, prefer freshness and quality to quantity.
  • Sort the waste and compost (even in a flat it’s possible!), it takes almost no time and we can ease our planet its burden.
  • Distinguish between the terms “best before” and “expiration date”, they’re not the same!
  • Cherish drinking water and use it frugally, there might come a time when there’s nothing like that.
  • Don’t throw wilted fruit and vegetables away, you can always cook it or make a juice from it.
  • Be in harmony with nature, respect its laws, and think of future generations.
